Competitive Events

Palmetto High strives to develop fierce competitors who can compete with some of the best in the nation. Each year Palmetto High recruits for their competition team which competes at the District 18 Conference and those who place have an opportunity to move on and compete at the state level. Students who win at the state level can further their competition experience by competing against some of the best in the nation at National Conference.

The FBLA-PBL National Awards Program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. At the State Leadership Conferences, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are then eligible to compete for national awards at the National Leadership Conference each summer.

Each event is governed by specific guidelines and rating sheets that can be found below, and in the Competitive Events section of the Chapter Management Handbook, updated and published each August. Make sure you are using the most recent version of the guidelines to prepare for your competition.

Competitive events fall into three categories: individual, team, and chapter. Individual and team events focus on skills useful in leadership and career development; chapter events recognize overall achievement and performance in chapter management and growth.
